Meatless Monday

The Meatless Monday movement was founded in 2003 by Sid Lerner, chairman of The Monday Campaigns, a nonprofit organisation, in association with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The movement has grown globally, powered by a network of participating individuals, hospitals, schools, worksites and restaurants. The simplicity of Meatless Monday – one day a week, cut out meat – has enabled the campaign to be embraced, talked about and practiced by people in over 40 countries and 22 languages around the world – from Croatia to China and Brazil to Bhutan.
